The mission trip to Cedar City, Utah was life changing. It is so dark there spiritually, but there is some light. Spending the week doing a VBS for some kids there was really fun and eye opening. The part of the week that stuck out to me the most is when we went to a church’s youth group and worshiped with the youth there and prayed for them. The student I prayed for is the only one from that church who goes to the school he goes to. We talked about how it is there and some of the struggles he faces being a Christian. My heart just was broken after talking to him. We need to keep the people in Utah in our prayers. The mission trip was really good!

Well words cant really express how the mission trip to Cedar City, Utah was. It was surrounded by some of the most beautiful mountains and canyons that I have ever witnessed, which goes to show you how small you are in the ONE and ONLY god and HIS world (regardless of what all the mormons think of being able to be a God and to have their own world one day). Going from one kid to nineteen kids by the end of the week in VBS was by far the most awesome thing about the whole mission trip, God answered are prayers and two young boys gave their heart to Christ and my prayer is that they grow up being the small glimpse of light in that area along with all the other fellow baptist christians and they just shine the light in all that darkness. I also just want to say that it was awesome serving with the whole mission team that went to Utah and it was a blast, i will miss you all, keep the fire burning in Elk. There is still a huge mission field here and although the darkness doesnt even come close to Cedar City, there is still much work to be done in Elk City, Oklahoma. I will be praying for everyone

As those of us who went to Denver last year know, we don’t always see the results of the work God is doing through us.We can only remain faithful to do what He is calling us to do. We surely saw God working this past week in a beautiful yet Spiritually dark place. The highlight of the week for me was when the two boys accepted Christ on Thursday VBS. God affirmed the work He was doing through us as He answered this and so many other prayers on this trip and continues to do so as we give Him all the glory.

As some people have already said Utah was just an amazing place. Given it is very dark, but the mountains, they were absolutely amazing and it just shows God’s greatness and how big he really is. I went on the trip hoping that I would be able to pour into the lives of the kids and teenagers, but Bethany and Anna, the Miller kids, and well lets just say that God really taught me something through them. I just loved every part of this trip and I loved building the relationships we did while we were there. I won’t forget it. Hope you continue to Pray for Utah as I know I will.

Hey everyone! I will never be the same person again after the trip to Cedar City Utah. As an adult leader I see many lives changed during trips like this. We see young children come to know Christ as Lord. We see students from our own ministry changed and grow spiritually. Our God is simply amazing in how he works. There is no other who compares. Our worship time at the church was my favorite part of the trip. The Lord protected us in our travels even through the adversity that satan put in front of us. Pastor Miller shared with us that in his town, Cedar City, the ratio of Mormon compared to Christian believers is 92% Mormon and less than 3% Christian. Can you imagine the struggles that he has? We must continually pray for his ministry, perseverance and strength for his family. We must also pray for the many lost souls in that town. Thank you FBCEC for allowing me to serve you and help do God’s kingdom work with your students.

Hey guys I just want to share my heart about what happened in Cedar City Utah. Utah was absolutely a life changing experience for me. From the very minute that we got into Utah it was very apparent that satan had a hold on that city but when i met the Miller family (the family that pastors the church we were at) It was also apparent that our GOD had light reigning over that city. Guys I learned so much this week that it would take hours to write it out but heres a little of the lot that God revealed to me. I don’t need to take prayer forgranted. So many times when we have people pray for us we don’t think anything about it afterwards. The millers they don’t have anyone in their lives that can grab them and say let me pray for you and when i realized that my heart was burdened and was broken for them. It’s funny how you go in with a mind set that God is going to do amazing things in the city that you are in through you. and yet when it’s all said and done that you were the one that ended up being changed by it. Utah was amazing but it needs our prayers our honest with all our hearts prayers EVERY single day. So i challenge you to pray everyday for the Miller family and for Utah.

Hey everyone, going to Cedar City, Utah was
an awesome oppertunity. I want thank all of the
people who made it possible. Going to Utah was
amazing! The people opened my eyes to all of the
stuff I take advantage of in my life. I met some of
the most amazing and generous people while I was
there. All the glory be to God for such an amazing
and heartfelt trip. So thanks again for the prayers!
    :D

The mission trip went great. There were hitches getting there and back, but God provided a safe way for us. Even in a place that’s 90% Mormon, God still rules over Cedar City, Utah. We had two decisions through V.B.S. and I was very happy for these kids, Brandon and Connor. Pray for this town and this state!

Wow this trip was amazing. We had a worship service each night where Ryan just had music playing from his ipod. It was one of the most amazing times of worship I have ever experienced. It was a time to praise God. Ryan encouraged us to really sell out to God and we prepared our hearts before we entered. God really showed me this week how very important total surrender is and that our actions are a very important example. We should have such a burden for the lost that we must go out and share having a church on every corner is no excuse not to tell. The week also just spoke to how light overcomes darkness. It was wonderful to get to know the Miller family they showed me how no matter what you are faced with God can give you strength to keep going on. It was so much fun to just spend time with the VBS kids and to teach them. I could say so much more but this is just a small portion of what happened through this trip.

I feel so blessed to have gone on this trip! It just changed my heart– broke it. It just made me aware of all the blessings in my life because we have so many things that they don’t. I mean one, we have each other. We have a big youth group that we can lean on for support and encouragement. FBC Ceder City doesn’t really have a youth group at all. We just don’t even know what it is to be alone, we have no idea. I was just so heart broken for these people and this place where so many people are so sure that they have the truth, when they don’t. Also, I think it taught me a lot about the power of prayer and the sovereignty of God. The first day we only had 1 kid show up for VBS and it was the pastor’s daughter. It was difficult for us to not get discouraged but we poured into her and then we prayed and prayed for VBS. The next day we have 9. Then 11. Then 13. Then 19. We went from 1 kid to 19 kids. 19 isn’t a very big number to us when we have 100s come to our VBS. But looking at it from the perspective that that is 19 souls and 19 seeds planted, its a HUGE number. And God was in control the whole time. He listened to our prayers. He had a plan the whole week, and all we had to do was trust him. And I just learned that this goes with life as well. God has a plan for our lives he always has and we don’t even have to do anything but follow him and trust him every step of the way. Keep Utah in your prayers guys!

Wow, it was an amazing week. I knew once we started having troubles getting there that satan didnt want us there, because big things were going to happen. It has been one of my favorite trips so far. Not only did we get to minister to an amazing family, but I think as a group we grew. Not only closer to one another, but closer to God. It was amazing. One of my favorite times was worship at night, especially Wednesdays worship at the camp fire under the stars. That time was just a time to reflect and get closer to my Daddy. VBS was amazing, even though we had kind of a bumpy start, having 19 kids the last day was all worth it. I hope everyone continues to pray for Cedar City and the Millers and their impact up there. I hope we get to go back up there in the near future!

Well this was my first Mission trip to go on and it was a great experience. It was amazing to see all of Gods great creation in Utah! What we did there was we helped First Baptist Church with there vbs. Vbs started on Sunday night and we only had one kid and it was the pastors daughter. But the second day we had 9 ,the third we had 11, the fourth we had 13, and the last day we had 19. It was really serving the little kids, the Miller family, Cedar City, and the First Baptist Church. Thank-you for all of your prayers! They were definitely heard! Please pray for the Miller family and the whole state of Utah.

It is so apparent that the Lord did some awesome things in each of our lives during our trip to Utah. What an awesome opportunity we had to serve the Lord in that area of our country! One of my favorite things about the trip was that one night we had the opportunity to go to a place called Cedar Breaks. It is a place that is much higher in elevation and sort of looks over Cedar City. We were actually there while the sun was still out, but Ryan explained to us that at night you could see a little bit of light from Cedar City. He compared this to the spiritual darkness within the city. Cedar City is such a dark place, but there is a little bit of light. In Matthew 5, it talks about how we are the light of the world. See, even though Cedar City is such a dark place, there are people who are light in that city… and light always overcomes the dark. I am so thankful for the friendships I was able to make with the Miller family while I was there. They are truly people who show light in such a dark place and they truly inspired me to do the same here.

One thing that I brought home with me is that we don’t have to go to Utah to be lights in a dark place. No, Oklahoma is not as spiritually dark as Utah.. but there is still such an incredible mission field here, too. It is time for me to start showing my light to ALL those around me. There are people in our town and at my school that are lost. They need light. In Matthew 5:14 it says, “You are the light of the world” and later in verse 16 it says, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” It all goes back to Christ alone.

    Let’s live as lights.

It’s awfully hard to explain what everyone else hasn’t already described, but personally in my life it was truly an incredible week. You really just don’t know what you have ’till you witness somebody without it. We are blessed to no end with what we have, and the people we have to share it with. Being able to get to know the Miller family was a blast. They are such sweet people. Words can’t describe the respect i have for them, and their willingness to answer God’s Call. Our friendships will carry on. Above all, it was just an amazing experience being in such a spiritually dark place for a week. Prayers were answered: 2 kids gave their lives to Christ.

Our trip to Utah was life changing. That’s the only way I can describe it! I flew into Cedar City on Sunday evening and it’s almost like you could see the darkness that consumed that city. Here we’re so used to seeing a church on every corner, and most likely a church that has the same beliefs as we do. That’s not the case there. Christians are the minority..and it’s a hard environment to live in for even just a week, much less live your life there. That is why I have so much love and respect for the Miller family. Meeting them was one of the best parts of my summer. I can’t wait to go back and visit them! My prayer going into Mission Utah was that God would break my heart, and my heart was absolutely broken for the people in Utah. He gave me such a burden for the lost. 2 little boys gave their lives to Christ, and it was such an encouragement to see that. Mission Utah changed my life, and I hope to, in return, help change the lives of others.

The mission trip to Utah was legit! Too legit to quit in fact! I dont know about everyone else but I loved it! God worked! The beauty of that is that we got to be used by Him. You know, He is always gonna work. He wants to use us but sometimes we dont let Him. Guys, this week we allowed Him to use us! wasnt that great! lets continue that here in Elk City and in our worlds of influence. lets do this! Another thing that really hit me during the week was the worship. I have been going through a dry time as of late and so one night of the worships i was praying for God to really hit me. Seemed like i was getting silence. So i started focusing and praying really really hard for everyone in the room. next thing i know, Jeff came by and prayed for me. I looked up after that and people were going around and praying for each other. God was moving! I loved it! that was one of the main highlights of the week! Also, the Miller family impacted me. They are Christians in a dark and blind world. We got to see a little bit of how hard that makes life. I am proud of them and extremely encouraged by them. They are living out their faith obediently in Christ. That pushes me to really examine my life and see where i could do better and stuff. Guys, learn from their example. They are truly a light in Utah. Can you say that about yourselves? Yes would not be the answer for all of us. Their love for us and for the people around really hit me. Luke 14:13-14 talks about when you have something, invite the ones in need, those who could not repay you. They do this. Remember the two free meals we ate? Remember who we ate them with? Those who could not repay the church. Again, guys, look at that example. Reach Out! Well, I could go on and on about the Miller family and their positive examples and about the church and about God in general but I will end it with this. Imagine life there and life here. spiritually, they should not be that different. step up and live it!

Also, wanna end with gratittude. Millers, thank you for all that you did for us, spiritually and physically. We are praying for yall. Stay strong. Yall have fellow brothers and sisters here if you need anything. Love yall!

When we went on the mission trip, God truely worked in our lives and others. At VBS 2 kids were saved! All of the places we went were beautiful and you definately could see God’s beauty. Out in Utah it is VERY dark. Christians get persecuted by their faith its HORRIBLE. Keep the Miller family in your prayers as there building the Kingdom.. :)

1,000,000 points for the team that had the best percentage at DNOW11 will be announced tonight and what do those 5 votes go for that Red Bull have? Will they actually get to have 5 votes during the normal tribal challenge? Or will it be for something else? I would lean to the 2nd option. Could there be a huge amount of points also awarded for the team with the most guests? I guess we will find out all the answers tonight at 6pm.
